5/26/2015

McDowell ARH Hospital is committed to providing patients the best possible experience and that commitment has paid off with McDowell ARH being named the first ARH hospital to achieve the ARH Excellence Matters Award for service excellence.

ARH regularly collects data on Quality and Service Excellence on key measures for which external agencies hold hospitals accountable as well as measures that show how ARH hospitals throughout Kentucky and West Virginia are performing in key components of quality and service excellence.

To be recognized with the ARH Excellence Matters award, an ARH hospital must achieve set rankings in all measured areas for three consecutive quarters in service excellence.

“It has taken years of teamwork and dedication by everyone at McDowell ARH to achieve the ARH Excellence Matters Award,” said ARH President and CEO Joe Grossman. “This recognition highlights not only the commitment that our employees have in providing the community quality healthcare services, but also their ability to go above and beyond in providing these services with a unique level of personal attention, care and compassion that patients need and appreciate.”

The “Excellence Matters” Reward and Recognition Program is designed to recognize the tremendous efforts of ARH employees, physicians and volunteers for their dedication of teamwork and compassion across the ARH system. The program provides facility recognition for putting into action outstanding customer service and achieving the highest percentile ranking in vital areas such as:

•Communications with nurses
