Appalachian Regional Healthcare has announced Susan Stewart has been named System Director of Home Services for the health system’s home health and home durable medical store operations in Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia.
A native of Hazard, Ky., Stewart joined the ARH Division of Home Services 16 years ago as a Home Services Associate. In 2011 she was named Assistant Administrator of ARH Home Services, and for the past three years has overseen the operations and development of new strategies for the 11 ARH Home Health Agencies and 13 Durable Medical Equipment Stores.
Stewart earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgetown College and serves on the Kentucky Home Care Association (KHCA) Board of Directors), and is a Member of the Medicaid Home Health TAC Committee. She is also a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow – Rotary International, and a two-term Board Member of the KY River Child Advocacy Center.
“It has been a pleasure to have been a part of the ARH Division of Home Services for the past 16 years, and to see firsthand the ways our system has grown and expanded the services we can provide to our patients right in the comfort of their homes,” Stewart says. “I look forward to continuing to build upon the longstanding tradition of excellence the ARH Home Services Division is known for and moving our operations forward in ways to best meet the needs of our patients.”
ARH President and CEO Joe Grossman says Stewart’s expansive career in home services with ARH has positioned her to move the system’s operations forward.
“You would be hard-pressed to find someone who has the knowledge, experience and insight into the home health and durable medical equipment industry than Susan Stewart,” Grossman says. “Susan has dedicated her career with ARH to expertly helping patients who require such in-home care, and we look forward to her leadership in this area.”
