Duanne Thompson has served ARH in many capacities, including serving on the Board of Trustees for many years. It was during this time that he became familiar with the ARH Foundation and what we do for the communities that ARH serves.
“The ARH Foundation is a wonderful asset to Appalachia,” Thompson says. He continues, “People need to know about the assistance that the ARH Foundation provides to the people in the areas we serve, I’ve learned a lot about it myself through my service on the board.”
Duanne, a dual-transplant recipient, understands how powerful a gift can be and how much it can change someone’s life. “I’m inspired by the opportunity to do something positive or help someone out and I know others are too,” Duanne said.
In his personal life, Duanne is celebrating a new marriage to the love of his life, Rhonda Collins, and he enjoys spending time with his son, Michael, and his 3 grandchildren, Norah, Veyda, and Baron. In his free time, he enjoys watching survival shows and just finished watching Alone.
“I also enjoy reading and really loved the book ‘The Energy Bus’,” said Thompson. “I loved the message about the importance of positive energy and teamwork.”
Duanne is an integral part of the Foundation’s work and his positive attitude and desire to make a difference in the lives of others shines through each day. In his professional career as the Market President for Community Trust Bank, he also makes a difference.
“I love helping people purchase their first home and see that dream come to life,” says Thompson
