May 31, 2023 – The Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) Leadership Academy is an intense, 12-month program that develops and highlights the abilities of emerging leaders within the organization. Employees that have worked for at least one year and apply for the program are considered. The areas of focus for the program is designed to help each individual address issues or situations in their healthcare specialty while also focusing on system wide issues and how leaders would help solve or develop plans for them. The leadership academy is comprised of individuals who show strong leadership ability, initiative, and plan to grow in their careers.
“For the participant, the ARH Leadership Academy helps them develop skills and build their abilities to step into leadership roles. For ARH, we are reaping the benefit of keeping these talented individuals in our Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia service areas where they can help make a difference for our patients, communities, and the employees they lead,” says Hollie Phillips, ARH President.
These leaders will develop skills that can be transferred to the work setting as well as in their personal lives. ARH is pleased to grow their leadership internally and share with their communities.
Phillips adds, “Through the investment in these ARH leaders, we are working to bring about an organization powered by servant leadership where our leaders don’t think of themselves as bosses. Instead, they see themselves as guiding the ship by focusing on the well-being of their people and letting them know their talent and opinions truly matter to the success of our organization.”
