The Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) Foundation for Healthier Communities is supporting the Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky to assist in their work. Through a donation of $2,500, the ARH Foundation will be helping to provide essential supplies to inmates housed in the recovery cells at the Kentucky River Regional Jail. These inmates have demonstrated a dedication to their recovery journey.
“We are proud to support individuals who are working to change their lives and the trajectory of their futures,” said Angela Bailey, Executive Director of the ARH Foundation. “They’re our neighbors, and we feel it’s important to support their recovery journey.”
This donation highlights the impact that community stakeholders can have when they support those who need it the most. The ARH Foundation and ARH are working together to step up and meet the need of the communities they serve, including those in recovery, to help to make their path toward healing and reintegration into society more tangible.
“We are committed to eliminating the barriers that those in recovery face across our region,” said Dylon Baker, Assistant Vice President of Workforce Initiatives at ARH. “Our mission of improving health and promoting well-being extends to those in recovery and this donation is a step toward helping them re-enter the community and workforce on a healthier path.”
This month, as we observe National Overdose Awareness Month, the ARH Foundation and ARH are working together to highlight the critical role that community support plays in addressing the ongoing opioid crisis.
“By supporting individuals in recovery, we hope to show them that they are not alone,” said Angela Bailey. “Investing in Appalachia, something we’re passionate about at the ARH Foundation, means investing in the people and possibilities in the region, and we believe that this program can allow for these individuals to help build and maintaining healthier communities through their journey to recover,” she continued.
ARH remains dedicated to fostering partnerships and initiatives that promote health and well-being for all individuals. Together, we will continue to build stronger, healthier communities where everyone can thrive.
“The road to recovery is lifelong, but it’s possible. To anyone actively in recovery or on their journey to get there, we’re proud of you,” added Baker.
