ARH Partners with Marshall Health, Mountain Health Network, and World Central Kitchen To Offer Free Medical Clinic, Supplies, and Meal Saturday in Knott County

August 5th, 2022 –  Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is teaming up with Marshall Health, Mountain Health Network (MHN), and World Central Kitchen Saturday to provide a free mobile health clinic, flood relief supply distribution, and a hot meal to those in the Knott County community affected by the recent flooding.  

 

Tomorrow, the mobile clinic will be stationed in the Hindman and Carrie communities and will have services including screenings, medical exams, immunizations, referrals, and over-the-counter medications provided by Marshall Health physicians, students, and resident physicians from the Marshall University schools of medicine and pharmacy. The team will provide a number of supplies and vaccinations, including tetanus and hepatitis A, provided by Mountain Health Network and the Robert C. Byrd Center for Rural Health at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

 

ARH will be on hand to distribute flood relief supplies and the World Central Kitchen will be on-site at each location to provide a hot meal. Marshall Medical Outreach, a medical student-led free mobile health clinic, will offer blankets, bleach, mops, clothes, etc., collected through donations.

These services will be provided in the following Knott County communities:

 

Hindman

 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Community Trust Bank, 107 West Main Street, Hindman KY

 

Carrie

2 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Montgomery Baptist Church, 290 Kings Harbor Road, Carrie, KY
