BARBOURVILLE, KY. – Appalachian Regional Healthcare has named Beau Masterson as the new CEO of Barbourville ARH Hospital.
Masterson joins Barbourville ARH after serving as COO of Beckley ARH Hospital since 2022.
“Beau has proven himself an invaluable asset since joining the ARH family,” said ARH Chief Operating Officer Paul Betz. “As COO of Beckley ARH Hospital, he has helped grow and improve a variety of services, and we are confident he will do the same in his new leadership position at Barbourville ARH Hospital.”
Prior to his time with ARH, Masterson’s healthcare career took him from Kentucky to Wyoming and Arizona as he worked his way from X-ray tech to COO.
The Jeffersonville, Ind., native said he is grateful for the opportunity to help guide Beckley ARH over the past two years.
“We have made significant strides in healthcare metrics, including an improvement in patient satisfaction, an improvement in quality, and we’ve moved the needle from red to black financially,” he said, noting improvements in culture, plant investments and even the addition of a hospital coffee shop. “I am proud of the work we were able to complete and the improvements in healthcare for the Beckley community.
“I am honored to have been able to serve as COO.”
Though Masterson said he enjoyed his time in Beckley, he said he looks forward his new position at the helm of Barboursville ARH.
“My primary goals are to enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency and foster a collaborative environment that supports our dedicated healthcare professionals,” he said. “Together, we will strive for excellence and ensure that Barbourville ARH remains a leader in quality healthcare delivery.
“I’m very excited and thankful for this opportunity.”
Masterson, a veteran of the United States Navy, and his wife Rayna are the parents of one son and two daughters.
