Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center hosted its first Farmers Market event recently, and 376 people enjoyed the festivities.
The kick-off event for the new farmers market at Hazard ARH featured produce vendors, Shenanigans, which served locally sourced foods (soups, salads, sandwiches, cakes), live music by Gunnar Couch and Kolby Combs and health screening booths.
“Hazard ARH is bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to our visitors, patients and employees,” shared Danielle Harmon, ARH Director of Community Development. “This is another way ARH is supporting the health and well-being of the people in our communities, which in turn supports our local growers.”
The Hazard ARH Farmers Market will take place again in August. ARH hopes to expand kick-off events to feature more farmers markets in each ARH community.
