We know that recovering from a flood is overwhelming, and we’re here to make it as quick and easy as possible for you to get the supplies you need. Here’s what to expect when you arrive at our distribution centers in Hazard and Prestonsburg:
Step 1: Fill Out a Brief Form
When you arrive at the distribution site, a staff member will greet you and provide a short form for you to fill out. This helps us determine which supplies will best meet your needs and whether we have them in stock. This form is only used to assist our team in gathering the supplies you need—it does not determine whether you qualify to receive them. We know there are so many hurting right now, and we trust that if you are requesting these supplies, it is because you have been affected by the flood and sincerely have a need for these items.
Step 2: Return to Your Vehicle
Once you complete the form, you can return to the comfort and warmth of your vehicle while our staff gathers and packages your requested items.
Step 3: Supply Availability & Substitutions
The supplies we have in stock depend on the donations we receive. Some days, we may have more available than others. Due to high demand, there may be a quantity limit on some items to ensure as many people as possible are able to receive the supplies they need. If an item you requested is unavailable, we will let you know. If we have a similar item in stock, a staff member will come back to your vehicle to ask if you would like to receive it instead.
At some locations, we have designated areas to pick up certain supplies. If you need water, you will be directed to our water station. This may require moving your vehicle to a designated area of our distribution center, where our staff will be able to load it for you.
Step 4: Receive Your Supplies
Once your items are gathered, a staff member will bring them out to your vehicle for you.
Many of the staff you will encounter are volunteers who are passionate about helping in these efforts. We deeply appreciate their dedication and commitment to serving the community during this difficult time.
We know this is a difficult time, and we are here to help. Just as we did in the 2022 flood, our goal is to help as many people with supplies as possible.
